Vision and Mission
YMCA Norfolk’s vision is to be an inclusive Christian organisation, transforming communities across Norfolk so that young people truly belong, contribute and thrive.
The mission of YMCA Norfolk is to enable transformation in the lives of young people.
Identity
YMCA Norfolk is part of an inclusive and diverse Christian movement welcoming people of all faiths and none. We seek to put this into practice through our values and also through:
-
Prayer - Christians associated with YMCA Norfolk commit to pray for the work and the people.
-
People - Conducting relationships in the ways that Jesus taught.
-
Presence - Showing God’s love in action to the people we serve.
We seek to serve by taking an appropriate and strategic place in Christian work across Norfolk, in agreement with Churches and other agencies. We will work to continue to serve and to love all young people regardless of their creed or background, and to serve as a bridge into the church for those who may seek a faith of their own.
Values
The values of YMCA Norfolk come directly from our Christian identity. Our Christian faith inspires and leads us to be:
-
Hope-filled and positive about young people and their future
-
Inspiring – a catalyst for transformation in the life of each young person
-
Fair to all, inclusive and non-judgemental
-
Empowering – unlocking potential so that each young person can contribute to themselves and others
-
Excellent; a hallmark of our work and relationships is to set and meet high standards
We expect our values to affect all our activities, behaviours and policies.
