Norfolk Nightstop Plus
Do you have a heart for helping young people?
Norfolk Nightstop Plus provides emergency short-term accommodation (for up to 5 nights) to young people from the age of 16-24 who find themselves with nowhere else to go. We place young people in the homes of approved volunteers until permanent housing is secured. YMCA Norfolk staff will assist each young person as they explore their housing options.
In addition Norfolk Nightstop Plus Supports the young person for the duration of their stay with the following:
1. Health & Wellbeing
2. Benefits & Finance
3. Housing
4. Support & Guidance
5. Family Liaison & Mediation
Without the help and support of our volunteers we would not be able to do this. Hosts are recruited, trained and supported by YMCA Norfolk.
To be able to offer this service is invaluable, sometimes all a young person needs is time and space to be able to find solutions or start rebuilding relationships enabling them to return home. There are also times when a return home is not an option and other support and housing services needed. In reality what Norfolk Nightstop Plus is helping a young person in a vulnerable situation and prevent them sleeping rough on the streets.
Have you a spare room for the night?
If you would like to support YMCA Norfolk and have a spare room from one night to five nights, then we want to hear from you! You need to offer a bedroom, washing facilities, breakfast and evening meal.
All hosts will have access to ongoing training and will be provided with expenses.
