What are the Community Games?Community Games photo

The ‘Community Games’ is a national programme that has seen hundreds of events happening up and down the country to celebrate the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. It is the government funded Olympic legacy programme for communities and has received the London 2012 ‘Inspire Mark’.

Each ‘Community Games’ is unique to the community they are hosted by but all events will are characterised by providing opportunities for people to take part in sporting and cultural activities. In Norfolk the ‘Community Games’ is a joint initiative between YMCA Norfolk and Active Norfolk.

The good news is that ‘Community Games’ will continue to run throughout 2013, building on the success of 2012 to see a legacy of sporting and cultural events happening across Norwich, Great Yarmouth and Kings Lynn.
