And the Winner is ......

Elaine Middleton was the winner of the YMCA Norfolk ‘More than a Song’ competition at this year’s Royal Norfolk Show and was delighted to be awarded with the prize of an iPad2.

 


 

 

The competition was based on thCompetition winner - websitee famous song by the Village People, Communications and Fundraising Manager, Susie Knights said "We will never the escape the connection with the song ...we decided to take this further at this year's Royal Norfolk Show we encouraged people to dress up as a member of the Village People and pose in front of specially designed backdrops that emphasise the message.

 

Elaine was chosen from hundreds of entrants which included school children, families and even members of the police force and armed forces. The winning entry being one that provided the best picture and completed the statement ‘YMCA is more than a song because...it helps others to a better future than they thought they could have’.

The competition helped raise awareness to the YMCA’s work across the county and  also helped raise cash towards the £1m public appeal to help build 40 self-contained flats as move-on accommodation for homeless young people on Bethel Street in Norwich.
