YMCA Norfolk kitted out for football future

ValeLongoFootieKit4002010: YMCA Norfolk has been given a full set of second-hand football kit from a generous Norwich team, Vale Longo FC, who have got a new strip themselves thanks to a sponsor.

YMCA Norfolk already works with the Street Life Soccer initiative, part of Norwich City FC’s Football in the Community project, and is in the process of appointing a new health and well-being development worker to further expand its activities in this area.

Communications manager, Susie Knights, said: “Football is one of the most popular sports played by young people in our care and having a full team kit will be a real boost for the new development worker. We want to thank Vale Longo for their generous thought and wish them well for the coming season.”

Vale Longo FC is a local team set up in 2002 by a group of friends who enjoy playing football together. They play at Longdale in Thorpe Marriott and have enjoyed several successful seasons. Last season they were promoted to Division 1a of the Norwich and District Sunday League.

Club secretary, Kevin Brown, said: “The forthcoming season has the potential to be one of the best in the club’s short history with a real belief in the team that we can push for promotion once again.”
