Jason wins Street Life Soccer Award

Jason and David McNallyREAL LIFE: Jason joined the Street Life Soccer programme in September 2009 from the YMCA St Giles accommodation in Norwich. Although he hadn’t played for a number of years Jason was a keen footballer with a particular interest in becoming a coach.

As Jason’s confidence grew he soon became a key member of the team, providing support and guidance to others. This role enabled Jason to successfully complete his Level 2 Community Sports Leaders Award and his FA Level 1 in Coaching.

Jason is now keen to progress on to the Level 2 FA Coaching programme.  With the support of The Shaw Trust Jason is hoping to undertake a work placement on the Street Life Soccer programme.

In July 2010 Jason received a Street Life Soccer award in recognition of his continual support for others. The award was presented by Norwich City Football Club Chief Executive, David McNally (pictured right). A week later Jason left his YMCA accommodation to move into his own flat.

Jason said: “Street Life Soccer has offered me so many opportunities. I thank everyone involved for believing in me.”
