Thought of the Month August 2008

Regular visitors to the YMCA Norfolk or Network Norwich websites will know that we have recently had what looks like a few set backs regarding the second phase of our new homeless accommodation in Norwich.   See recent article “New central Norwich YMCA to open in January”. This could be a time when we might panic, loose heart or a clear view of where God is leading us. Not so.

At a recent Christian conference the main speaker said “There is no recession in God’s Kingdom”. This is always true. He loves to provide for His children and He especially loves the poor, homeless and needy. When we hit a wall, of whatever type, God knows the way through. It is our job to seek Him and He will provide the answer. Sometimes the answer is imminent or even instant; at other times the answer involves a process of working things through with God. But there is always an answer.

Rainbow- webThe psalmist said that “real help” comes from God, which is where we want it to come from if we want help that lasts. The psalmist goes on to say that His blessings clothe His people. What a wonderful picture.
Instead of clouds of gloom and defeat we can be clothed in His blessings. Here at YMCA Norfolk we love to receive His blessings, which include restful sleep! Because we know He will provide the answer.

But you, God, shield me on all sides; You ground my feet, you lift my head high; with all my might I shout up to God, His answers thunder from the holy mountain. I stretch myself out. I sleep. Then I'm up again--rested, tall and steady. Real help comes from God. Your blessing clothes your people! Psalm 3:4-6, 8 (The Message)

Thank you so much for this encouragement that God will make a way where there is no way as we keep looking ti Him in faith.
